In the second week I had my Bernese Mountain Dog Emma, she suffered a head injury while romping with other pups in a rock-filled field. Dr. Bob - managed her care/our trauma with more compassion, intelligence and scientific rigor than I have ever experienced. I brought Emma to Dr. Bob that early afternoon because she was walking with a wobble that started suddenly and was getting worse by the minute. I susected a broken leg or hip. He immediately X-rayed her relevant parts and could find no problem. When he carried her back, wrapped in a blanket to where I was waiting in the exam room, we both watched, horrified, as she cried and seemed to fade away before our eyes. Dr. Bob sent me home and said Emma should stay with him. It didn't take Bob long to settle on a diagnosis of a traumatic head injury -and start her on appropriate meds. All that afternoon, while working and seeing other patients, he carried my Emma in the blanket against his chest to comfort and calm her. He kept her at the hospital overnight - coming in every couple hours to personally administer her meds and check on her. By morning, she was herself - and proceeded to get better over the following weeks. Bob saved Emma's life and was the most humane proessional imaginable.He wouldn't give up or rest until he figured out the problem and fixed it. Our Dr. Bob is the BEST!
