We were seeing another vet when we took our 12yr Lab mix Sammie in for a dental cleaning, afterwards the vet told us he found a mass and it didn't look good. We went back 2 weeks later and in a very unprofessional and heartless way, as I was standing signing paperwork for him to clean another one of my dogs teeth, he said, "Sammie has oral cancer and about a year to live," he couldn't even wait until I sat down, he said he got the results a few days ago but knew we were coming in so he waited.
We had seen Dr. Susan before but she had moved her office and it was far but I knew I needed her for this fight and we called her, she saw us right away, she hugged us, cried with us and loved on Sammie until the very end. I don't have enough word space on here to type what all she did for us and our Sammie but let's just say if she moves 20 states and away I will follow her, she isn't just a well trained vet she has a love and compassion to her that is hard to find.. She loves her job and it shows in how she handles her fur patients and their owners, she does tons of volunteer work for her community. I can't thank her enough for being there when our Sammie needed her and we did too, she has the best hugs.
