Dr. Johnson has been caring for our dogs for 10 years. He and his entire staff make you feel like your pet is the most important patient they see. Dr. Johnson is knowledgeable, up to date on treatments, kind and caring. He sits on the floor and plays with my dogs before he does anything else. He always takes a lot of time to listen to all of our concerns and comments and to explain things. He treats our dogs as if they are his own. He only has people working for him who exude the same welcoming, caring attitude. When our beloved mini Aussie got cancer and had to be put down they couldn't have been more caring and compassionate. Dr. Johnson gave me every possible option until he knew we were ready to make the hard decision. We have since added 2 mini Aussies to our family. Dr. Johnson has cared for them since day 1. I can't tell you how many times he and his staff have gone above and beyond for us. Dr. Johnson was sure I knew the importance of socializing them when they first came home. He encouraged me to stop by often with the pups just to say hello. They have offered to pick them up from boarding if they get sick. Our family feels very secure and happy with our vet choice. And, our dogs love to go the vet. Need I say more?

Betty was surrendered to the Washington Humane Society when she ate rat poison and her owners could not afford the treatment that she needed. The shelter was going to have to euthanize her, when Dr. Kirsch, working for Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, DC at the time, paid for the treatment herself. After receiving intense treatment, Dr. Kirsch took Betty home with her to recuperate. When Betty was much better, I took her in as a foster dog. I knew the same day I brought her home that I wasn't going to be able to give her up. I can't imagine not having her around. She means everything to my husband and to me, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have her in my life. Thank you, Dr. Kirsch!

I trust Dr. McCormack with the lives of my pets and that, to me, says everything.' I've been with Patti for over 20 years and in that time she has always been honest, compassionate, truly caring, and has provided thee best possible care for my critters.' Patti has always taken the time to understand meeven when I'm not making much sense due to fear, anguish, confusion as to what my pet is going through.' Patti has made me the happiest person in the world with good news and has provided comfort and reassurance when the time has come to let go of a little love.' Patti is exceptional her medical skills, ability to communicate in a way that's easy to understand, but in no way condescending.' Patti displays appreciation for the uniqueness of her patients and their owners and makes us feel very special and always welcomenever geezwhatnow?' Patti's sense of humor, her ability to relate, and her exceptional abilities to diagnose, treat, and heal are second to none.' And her matteroffact explanations, her understanding of humans' feelings sooth and calm.' I love my pets more than I can say; they are everything to me; Patti gets that, truly and deeply.' As I said, I trust Patti with the lives of those I love most, and again, to me, that says everything.

Dr. Phillips and her crew at VSH are amazing! They've been treating Daisy for over a year now for Mast Cell Cancer. Every time we pull into the parking lot, Daisy gets SO excited! She absolutely loves going to see her oncologist and the entire team at VSH. Dr. Phillips is incredibly knowledgable, keeps current with all the literature and runs clinical trials, all to improve the lives of her patients. We tried quite a few chemotherapy drugs until we found one that Daisy tolerates well and actually thrives on. Dr. Phillips was always willing to give her opinion, but never pressured us. She gave us options and recommendations. The team at VSH make every visit special and even sent a 1-year anniversary card to Daisy. Because Dr. Phillips works with cancer patients with great care and dedication, she and her organization are absolutely deserving of any reward that acknowledges their knowledge and unending compassion. Dr. Phillips knows her stuff, takes time to explain everything and follows up personally! She and her team ROCK!

To simply state that Dr. Ruslander is the best veterinarian in the world is simply and understatement! After a very doom and gloom prognosis by several specialists for our beautiful dog, Simba, diagnosed with malignant cancer, we were extremely fortunate to have found Dr. Ruslander. I will never forget Dr. Ruslander’s first words to us as we stood in the examination room in tears; he said “we have no reason to be pessimistic as we simply do not know enoughâ€. That was over 10 months ago and our amazing Simba is still going strong. Dr. Ruslander’s optimism is very contagious. He treats each and every one of his pet patients with unfathomable personalized care, love, and sensitivity that far surpasses anything that I have seen in human medical care and I am a medical professional.Dr. Ruslander’s staff closely follows in his footsteps. Simba had endured surgery, IV Chemo, and radiation and never dreads going to this hospital. On the contrary, due to the love that Simba receives at this hospital from the reception staff, amazing nurses and Dr. Ruslander, the days that Simba has to visit the hospital are his happiest days. While we approach the front door with anxiety, Simba forgets us the second we enter the hospital and trots off to the love that he has come to expect from this amazing place. We can only attribute Simba’s excitement to the loving care that Dr. Ruslander and his dedicated staff
