We co-own our friends' miniature American shepherd. Despite being young, fit and healthy, Kite experienced an intussusception requiring emergency surgery. Unlike our own dogs, Kite was not insured by Pets Best, and our friends were faced with an unthinkable choice since their vet was closing and the emergency hospital was prohibitively expensive. Dr. Donoho and veterinary nurse Jordan Allred immediately left their evening social engagements to meet me at the clinic for emergency surgery. I'm not even sure if they charged for their time or just the supplies, but one thing is certain: they saved Kite's life, and he is now enjoying a career in AKC conformation shows.
This is just one of many stories in which Dr. Donoho and her team go above and beyond every day. Their compassion for animals is rivalled only by their compassion for the people who love them.
