It’s a scary, crazy day when your precious pet wakes up in the morning and her back legs won’t work.
Then you rush to your vet and they tell you she has to have back surgery that day or be paralyzed.
And your vet, the person you know and trust, doesn’t do the surgery, so you have two unknown places to choose from. You have to make a lot of decisions fast, with very little to nothing to go on.
And that’s how Lili, my 11 year old dachshund, and I ended up at Fetch, in the hands of Dr. Kimberly Enderly.
I had to leave Lili in a place neither of us was familiar with, in the hands of strangers.
There are no words for how I felt that day, but if you’re a pet lover, you understand.
Lili had her surgery and a 5-day stay in the hospital. Never in my life have I met so many caring, compassionate women as I met at Fetch. From the wonderful ladies at the front desk to all the nurses and technicians, every one was so gentle and concerned.
When I finally met Dr. Enderly, the surgeon who made Lili walk again, I was awestruck. She acted as though Lili was her only patient, constantly checking on her, and monitoring every week of her recovery. This beautiful, brilliant woman was so humble and practical. When we left she kissed Lili on the nose and said: “I love you, Lili.”
