My Vet's the Best National Contest

Every year, Pets Best recognizes veterinarians that go above and beyond with cash prizes. Tell us your story about why your vets the best, and help them continue providing for pets and pet owners.

Background

In 2010, Pets Best Pet Health Insurance became the nation’s first pet insurance company to develop a contest to recognize the best veterinarians in the U.S. Each year, thousands of veterinarians are nominated by grateful pet owners. Their stories include heartwarming and sometimes harrowing tales of why they believe their veterinarian is truly the best. Past My Vet’s the Best winners have used their prize money to nurse an abused dog back to health, treat and vaccinate pets in impoverished areas, and treat a stray kitten with a ruptured eye.

The My Vet’s the Best contest and its finalists have been featured in the Chicago Tribune, Veterinary Practice News, and many other media outlets.

Nominating Your Veterinarian

Our online form makes it easy for you to nominate your vet. Your story doesn’t have to be long, but it should include details about how your vet helped your pet specifically, as well as information about any pet-related charity or organizations your veterinarian may support.

You can nominate your veterinarian at any time. All finalists in the calendar year will be entered into the running for the Grand Prize title and prize.

Prizes and Awards

Grand Prize Winner: $1,000 to treat needy pets.

All nominated veterinarians get: A printed letter of recognition, and a window cling contest seal.

How Many Veterinarians Win?

One Grand Prize Winner is chosen each year. From the hundreds of nominees, a Pets Best committee selects one Grand Prize winner.

Past Grand Prize Winners

"In an effort to play a greater role in our community, Stone Creek Veterinary Hospital has partnered with Blackland Prairie Raptor Center to help care for their educational birds of prey and rehabilitation patients. Caring for these amazing birds requires special equipment, medications, and supplies. We intend to use the $1,000 prize towards the purchase of specialized equipment required to properly care for these majestic creatures."
